Wheelchair and Mobility Assistance We are concerned about comfortable travel for all of our passengers. Accordingly, if you need a wheelchair or mobility assistance while traveling with us, we ensure that your travel experience is comfortable from the moment you book your flight to your destination.

Depending on your mobility level and individual needs, we offer mobility assistance or wheelchair assistance in the following three ways:

If the passenger can go up and down the stairs and move without assistance in the aircraft cabin,

If the passenger is able to meet his/her needs on the plane without assistance,

 

 

Wheelchair to Ramp;

The passenger is assisted up to the ramp of the aircraft where the passenger goes up the stairs, and the passenger goes to the seat without assistance.

 

If the passenger cannot go up and/or down the stairs but he/she can move in the aircraft cabin without assistance,

If the passenger is able to meet his/her needs on the plane without assistance,

 

 

Wheelchair Assistance up to the Stairs;

The passenger is assisted up to the aircraft door, and the passenger walks to the seat without assistance.

 

 

If the passenger is completely immobile and cannot move unassisted in the aircraft cabin,

If the passenger cannot meet his/her needs on the plane.

 

 

Wheelchair to Cabin Seat;

The passenger is assisted up to his/her seat on the aircraft.

 

 

Passengers in need of such assistance must have a health certificate (in Turkish & English) signed by a certified medical doctor stating that they are fit to fly.

The passenger must travel with a companion/assistant who can assist him/her on the plane (including food, going to the toilet, etc.), as well as during emergency cases.

How to Request Wheelchair Assistance?

Passengers who require wheelchairs must submit their requests and obtain approval 48 hours before the flight. Meeting the needs of passengers who do not submit their requests up to 48 hours in advance is evaluated within the airport possibilities. This is required also for our disabled and sick passengers.

Please note the following warnings!

  • Arrive 3 hours before your flight to make all arrangements at check-in.
  • Have the relevant medical certificates and doctor's prescriptions in case you need to keep any medicines on board.
  • All passengers with reduced mobility should be able to use a normal aircraft seat with the back of the seat upright during taxi, take-off, and landing.
  • Due to safety reasons, passengers with reduced mobility cannot select seats on the emergency exit line.
  • Wheelchairs may not be available at the airport due to requests, so we recommend you should make a reservation for wheelchair assistance at least 48 hours before departure.

Personal Wheelchair

  • We will carry your wheelchair for free in addition to your checked baggage.
  • At most airports, you can bring the wheelchair to the boarding gate where it will be taken and hold it for the flight. The wheelchair will be waiting in the baggage room when you get to your destination.
  • Modified or non-standard wheelchair models may require inspection before being accepted.

Mobility Aids or Auxiliary Device

The following types of mobility aids or auxiliary devices can be taken into the cabin provided that they comply with safety rules and regulations and have no sharp edges or parts.

  • Canes (including quad canes and forearm canes),
  • Crutches (including underarm crutches and forearm crutches),
  • Walkers (including rollators and knee walkers), For safety reasons, our cabin crew will place your mobility aid device in the overhead cabinet during takeoff and landing.
